Theme

Since its founding in 2003, ciguë has been dedicated to producing architecture at the intersection of space, design, and installation. The desire to reconnect architecture with craftsmanship has continuously evolved over nearly 20 years, shaped by encounters, projects, and contexts. This culture of thinking and making now finds its balance between a diverse architectural output, daily hands-on work with materials, and research projects conducted within the studio, notably on the use of sustainable materials and, more broadly, energy efficiency.

Based in Montreuil, in a new space that functions both as an office and a workshop as well as a venue for presentation and territorial activation, the team today comprises around twenty people. It develops a wide variety of projects, from public buildings to bespoke objects, including the rehabilitation of heritage sites and the creation of living, production, and retail spaces around the world. The partners are Camille Bénard, Julien Franc Wahlgreen, Guillem Renard, and Alphonse Sarthout.
